Product Details
Carbon-dioxide (Co2) dragster kit — provides a hands-on activity to design, build, and race a model Co2 dragster that demonstrates the scientific concepts of aerodynamics, motion, drag, and friction.
Includes one 12" Basswood blank (pre-drilled for Co2 cartridge), one Co2 cartridge, one Styrofoam blank (for prototyping), two front + two rear spoke wheels, four axle washers, two steel axles, two screw eyes, one sandpaper sheet, and one piece of graph paper. Also comes with step-by-step instructions for building a metric Co2 dragster.
Includes all parts for building a dragster and a lightweight basswood body blank that you or a student (grades 6-12) can shape with basic cutting, shaving, or sanding tools for creativity and individuality in the design process. The included polystyrene foam blank allows you / your student to create a prototype body shape before shaping the wood block.
This kit teaches automotive design processes and reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as you design and build an efficient model dragster
Some tools you may need: drill, a coping saw, a wood file or rasp, a ruler, scissors, finish or paint, and a race system (all sold separately).
